Carl and his Urban Sanctuary team worked on our garden in early spring of this year. The only part of the previous garden to remain was a fence down one side. We were aiming for a complete transformation.
The only access to the garden was through the hallway and kitchen. I was at home on maternity leave at the time and though I knew it was unrealistic to expect no dirt in the house, I was still a bit nervous about this, having just undergone extensive redecoration and having a young baby. I soon relaxed as I could see that they were very respectful of our home and they were careful to clean up at the end of each day.
From the very start, we got the sense that Carl and his team were reliable and could be trusted with our house and garden. We had no problem leaving them with keys. In the past we have had mixed experiences with people working on our home. We’d dreaded coming home to assess any damage at the end of each day and had seen shortcuts taken at the expense of quality. The Urban Sanctuary team was like a breath of fresh air. It was actually very exciting to observe the daily metamorphosis. Carl had a real integrity about his work and seemed to want to achieve the best results possible. We couldn’t fault the quality of the workmanship and materials used. Having lived with a very uneven patio, we’re over the moon with our sharp and sleek granite replacement.
We were impressed with how hard they worked and through quite mixed conditions. The only times they didn’t work was when the weather was extremely wet. They were always very punctual and called to let us know of any change of plans. The project came in exactly on time.
We are absolutely overjoyed with our new garden. The space has been completely transformed. The garden has the overall ambience and feel that we’d envisioned but the final result was better than we’d anticipated. There is nothing we would change, we love every little bit of it.
I can honestly say that they were a pleasure to have around. Though I didn’t miss the wheelbarrows, I missed the team when they had gone.

Throughout the project they kept both ourselves and the neighbours fully informed and made a potentially tricky situation completely painless.
