The design process is of course the crucial starting point of any
successful project. Planning your garden through consultation, survey
and design drawings will enable you to visualise the project and will
save money and time when it comes to the construction. The following
steps are not all necessary for all projects and a design package can
be tailored to your needs.
Consultation – Talking with you about your wants and
needs for the garden will establish the ‘roots’ of the garden.
Survey – A detailed inspection of the site is the next
key stage this will highlight any considerations needed for the design
and the build.
Concept plans – A rough scale drawing (concept plan)
is sometimes sufficient for smaller projects, if more than one idea
is required several different concept plans can be produced.
Final plans – Having gone over concept plans and agreed
any changes scaled final plans can be produced.
Planting plans – Planning and choosing the right plants
for you and the space is a very important part of the project.
Detailed construction document – This will ensure all
parties involved with the build understand what the project entails,
it consists of a written description of each element specifying materials
and technical information.
